  1. after reading the disastrous chetan bhagat's so called best-sellers his name repels my attention.

  2. after being unemployed for a while a few years ago, I thought knut hamsun's 'hunger' was an incredible read. The story of a poor journalist in desperate straits attempting to hide his poverty so he could retain his dignity, is so compassionately and beautifully done it takes your breath away.

  3. Hi !

Philip K. d**k is a writer that I always had an affinity with in both his personal and professional lives , particularly with the characters in his books .

His characters are most often engaged in the events outlined in the plot and behave as humans do in extraordinary circumstances with either aplomb or resignation .

  4. There are many writers I have rapport or empathy with.  The best writers tend to get this.  They include Marion Zimmer Bradley, Anne McCaffrey, J. R. R. Tolkien, and a lot of other grand masters.

The writer I don't have empathy for (based on two of his earliest works) is David Gerrold.  He might have improved, but I haven't read any since Moonstar Odyssey.

The writer I totally lost empathy for is Jean Auel.  PLAINS OF PASSAGE is the book I hold up as an example of what not to do.   She let her background research take over the story.

  5. Bill O Reilly Wrote a book years back called culture warrior and I could identify really well with his point of view. It was about the radical left wing Americans (so-called) and the secular-progressives quest to diminish all true meaning of morality. He gave examples of politicians who are dishonest and immoral making their way through our states with the manipulation of money. The book was about a culture war brewing between traditionalists and the secular-progressives.I side with the traditionalists; whom would like to see our country, America, stand up for our values and take back our communities, youth, and standards while the Secular-progressives  believe in a more evolving America in which young kids make major life decisions without parental consult and criminals can go with lessor punishments. Its really good and I defintely felt rapport with Mr. O Reilly and thought he was definitely speaking on my behalf.
