  1. good to know these things Earl, especially if you gotta hubby lol

  2. AD&D,

Do you mean accidental death and DISMEMBERMENT?  Usually this is a double indemnity rider on a life insurance policy that will pay your beneficiary  a subsidy if you die an untimely death do to an accident.  Dismemberment: Insurance companies put dollar amounts on body parts you loose and that is how much they will pay you if you loose that part.

  3. You have to read all the clauses in this kind of insurance..    I know someone who was in an accident and thrown from the vehicle, he didnt die right away, he died after crawling 20 feet. So the company didnt pay out.

  4. If the death is by accident or if the person suffers a  disMEMBERment (lose an arm or leg or hand) happens, then the death benefit paid out is double!

It is the best value in the entire world of insurance - always get this additional rider.  It costs a tiny amount for the double coverage since the only other type of death than by accident, is natural causes which means that is many years away (well, I hope it is many years away!).  Plus you get the dismemberment coverage.
