  1. It is taking an active role to help people as a change agent.  It isn't particularly for one person, but a group of people usually a group that is underserved in some area.


  2. It can be many things.  It can be policy work, advocacy, community organizing, social action, and many other specific tasks under each of those areas.

    It is also a part of the ethical standards of the profession.
