What is actually Engineering Physics? What will be its job oppurtuinities?

I have decided to pursue Engineering Physics at IIT,Madras.

what do u people think?

Tell me some more important thinks about it.

  1. I studied Engineering Physics in Canada.

    It seems the term is pretty broad and means different things in different universities. In my school, the program focused a lot on optics and silicon devices.

    Typically, the things your program will cover will likely require a PhD to really specialize in. If you want to work in industry you will likely have to find an electrical engineering of software engineering job. You can probably do it with eng phys, but it might be tougher to get your foot in the door straight out of school.

  3. people with degrees in engineering physics (and any physics field) usually end up in engineering fields, unless you get a PhD and even then that is where we end up mostly.
