  2. speech impaired=augmentative communication device-person types or clicks pictures-computer talks for tehm

mobility impaired-computerized wheelchair activated by puffer, head pad, hand control

  3. Adaptive technology also known as assistive technology is anything which helps a person with a disability to do a task which they would not be able to do.

    Some examples are:

    Speech impaired:

    letter or picture board

    speech output device

    Mobility impaired:

    wheelchair either powered or manual

    walking frame

    switches

    larger keyboard or onscreen keyboard

    Visually impaired:

    braille typewriters

    white cane

    large type keyboard

    Hearing Impaired:

lights to signify that something is happening like for a door bell or a fire alarm.

  4. Adaptive technology is any piece of technology (usually but not always computer-based) that makes it easier for someone with disabilities to function in the world.  For example, a screen-reader allows a blind person to use the internet, while a large-handled spoon could make it easier for a person with limited motor functioning to eat without assistance from another person.
