  1. well when your body goes into "shock" (or an intense state of rushing activity where you can barely think, only thing that is going through your head is the goal of survival) it releases a hormone called adrenaline this hormone puts your body into "survival-no-matter-what-it-takes" mode and you can last longer, you get extremely faster, things that aren't really necessary at the time being like your metabolism or conscience thinking, are shut down to provide more energy to survive. basically you become an unstoppable force that is fast, agile, strong, and your body does anything and everything to help you survive at all costs.

  2. It takes blood away from your brain and other internal organs and pumps it into your muscles. As a result, this makes you extremely faster and stronger. However, you have less of a sense of whats going around you and tend to have tunnel vision (you can only see whats in front of you) and makes you less co-ordinated, which can make you worse at combat if you start getting too mad and start flailing. It also makes you see things slower, like in slow-motion but uh, not and it reinforces your action before the adrenaline kicks in. If you were planning to run away you will run away. If you were going to fight you are going to fight. But, if you freeze from shock you will freeze for longer, and not be able to react.

In short, adrenaline ******* kicks ***.
