What is advanced algebra exactly?

Question

Okay in freshman year I took geometry and then I thought Algebra 2 would be next for my sophomore year (now) but on my current class schedule it says I'm in advanced algebra what is it? Was I put into a dumber class, normal, or higher than usual.

Hey,

If your in HS then the most advanced algebra can get is solving quadratic equations, using methods such as completing the square, the quadratic formula, and factoring....But if your in college than algebra can get a bit more twisting and you will have to deal with matrices and other sorts of advanced things.

Have you taken algebra? Algebra is usually a required course to graduate and maybe they don't know if you took it in middle school so they automatically registered you for it OR maybe it says advanced algebra 2, but the 2 does not fit on the paper..... I guess you'll find out on the first day of class
