What is aftermarket?

i was told to get aftermarket parts for my car, i'm clueless.

haha it means anything you buy that doesnt come with the car when u buy it  so say u buy some new speakers for your car  they would buy after market speakers when u put them in

after markets are the same parts the dealers make but by other companies and alot cheaper auto parts stores sell after market car parts  some you can get some you can't you have to get from dealer

aftermarket is anything that is not considered a stock part. meaning anything that did not come out of the manufacturer's factory. for example, you changed your stock wheels to an aftermarket wheel to give a sleeker look.

Aftermarktet is any parts that are not made by the car company or that are not original parts(oem)

Aftermarket parts  means they not made from original equipment manufacturers and the part does not come with the car from the dealer but can be put on with the right applications.
