  1. Aluminums....but that'll soon be discarded, the 747-8 is the last mainly Aluminum  aircraft that'll be built, all other aircraft after that will be made of CRFP (Carbon reinforced plastic) also know as composites.

  2. Depending on what it is used for it could be aluminum, titanium, plastic, steel, cardboard, rubber, copper, glass, plastic resin to name a few.

  3. Nothing has been mentioned regarding the open-cockpit, tail-dragger types of yesteryear.  These were made mainly of wood, (the frame), and canvas, (the skin).

  4. The majority is light alloys, such as aluminum and titanium, even though other exotic materials are used, such as minel, stainless, and CRESS, and some standard metals, like steel.

The new Boeing 787's outer fuselage is mostly composite material, instead of aluminum, as a weight saving (and thus, fuel saving) alternative.

  5. the frame of the plane is mostly made up of aluminium since that is a very light but strong metal.

  6. Usually is necessary a light material in order not to add unnecessary weight. So the airplanes are commonly made by aluminum and composite materials

  7. Mostly light metals such as aluminum make up the bulk of a plane's construction. It really depends on what part of the plane and what it is used for. But the frame is mostly aluminum.

  8. Dreams and dead kittens.
