I am new to the south and I'm confused about what all the confederate pride is about? The South suceeded from the union, that was TREASON, they were fighting to keep slavery, and they LOST the civil war. What part is prideful??????

  1. Please Give Us a break. We got our clocks cleaned what else do you want from us.THE SOUTH WILL RISE AGAIN...Well maybe not.

    HOORAY FOR DIXIE HOORAY.

  2. Unfortunately there are many redneck racists that are slightly more prominent in the south. As to why they have pride in their ignorance, I will never know.

    Native Texan

  3. I worked with southerners for years, and even had to live in the south for several years. The CSA was a racist, elitist, organization. Their war was one of money and privledge, more than one of race and slavery. If you are not among the privledged rich, you should be as offended by the confederate flag, as the blacks claim to be. No part of it is "prideful." The confederacy wanted a ruling class to have absolute power over all working people.

  4. No it wasn't treason. They had the right to secede. The pride is in the attempt to preserve the Republic. We were never designed to be a democracy. That form of government is one step away from Fascism as we clearly see taking place in our erstwhile great nation.Further it was about states rights and trade tariffs  more than slavery.Slavery was on its way out across the globe without civil wars. They don't teach real history in the schools these days.
