World War III, Doomsday, New World Order...are people just panicking for no reason?

(some guy at our local mall was raging about the end of the world and 2012...warning people to get ready.)

  1. First of all, the Mayan calendar does NOT end on 2012. It just ends one long cycle and begins a new one, like our calendar's transition from 1999 to the new millenium. And Nibiru is a total scam. If a planet were due to collide in less than four years, ANY amateur astronomer with a half-decent pair of binoculars would be able to see it. Again, it's all a farce and I can't believe the people who believe this nonsense are getting thumbs-up for it.

  2. Watch the Movie Esoteric Agenda on Youtube

That will explain it all to you

Basically The world will end 2012 as the Mayans predicted, but they also predicted there would be a one world government (NewWorldOrder) which would wage a great war against the people of the world (WW III) to reduce the population of the planet to 1/2 million people

So it's not literally the end of the World, just a great war which will kill everyone, lovely.

Anyways watch the film (Esoteric Agenda)

  3. A key point in the old-school Mayan calendar (which is more accurate that our own calendar) is December 21, 2012. A Mayan of prophet like status claimed that it would be the end of a current Age and the start of a new Age.

Coincidentally, on that day, the sun will be in perfect alignment with the center of the Milky Way Galaxy. Even more interesting, recently a black hole has been identified in the center of our galaxy. Now, we're no where near the center, so in my opinion, we don't have much to worry about there.

Also, it's not the end of the calendar itself. The Mayans created their calendar based on 52 year increments. And at the end of the 52nd year, it moves on to another. The main thing to remember when it comes to these type of prophecies, is that nothing is set in stone and it all depends on humans working together to figure out how we can keep from killing each other, which, to me, is the biggest threat and more likely to cause Doomsday....human arrogance and stupidity.

And all that is just scraping the surface. Might I suggest you keep an eye out for the various shows on History Channel and History International. I personally have seen about 3 shows just on this subject, and one was last night. That'll probably be the best way to have it all explained.

    Hope this helped! Good luck!

  4. Better prepare.  It's all over in 2012.

Read up on the Maya prediction and their calendars.

  5. No, it's new age nonsense based on an artifact of the ancient Mayan calender, it's akin to saying the the world is going to end in 9999 because there are no numbers higher than 9999...if that doesn't makes sense, you  now understand why the 2012 prediction makes no sense.

I'm predicting the end of the world on July 22, 2009:

Historically people have predicted the end of the world countless times, they've always been wrong:

On April 23 2029 the asteroid Apophis is going to miss Earth by a hair's breadth in astronomical terms, actually passing under the orbits of some satellites when it goes past. It will be  a once in a lifetime chance to see and asteroid with the naked eye, but it poses no danger to Earth. No doubt after the 2012 date rolls by safely, we will here no end of silliness about 2029.

While silliness like these predictions is frustrating to scientific and logical thinkers, I suppose at least it encourages people to look into the science and logic of such things. Once one does a little research, it gets pretty easy to spot stuff like this as nonsense.

  6. two factors..Mayan Calendar (world's most accurate ancient calendar() stops on Dec 21, 2012..this was the last day..some say it is Doomsday

This has been predicted the end of the world on Oct. 25, 2012..this was Black Friday ..stock market Crash (Oct 25,1929() so this is 73 years since the blackest day in history

Wall Street predicted if Barrack Obama is elected..the Stock Market will crash..

It is all guess work and a lot of tabloid b. chit..but believe what you want "truth is stranger then fiction>P

  7. The Mayan calendars like, stopped in December in 2012.

So everyone thinks that's when the world's gonna end.

  8. same prediction was made for 2000 and nothing happened

  9. It's nonsense, some desperate anti obama conservatives are using it as yet another excuse to tarnish his name and then there is always the new age theorists that predicted the end of the world (and failed)a million times before.
