amen dave. sorry Elaine, the "flim flam" term went out with george c scott. i sympathize with you though, i'm of your era and i just started using a computer a couple of weeks ago. what gets me is all the abbreviations. some of these people will talk for 5mins. and never say a word,,,,, just letters. they sound like a commercial for alphabet soup.

Technical things are getting more complicated and strange, and they are doing that faster and faster. So there's more to learn and more to re-learn, and people coming up with ways to handle this aren't coming up with them fast enough. So no-one can know enough about more than a few things, to be able to really judge how good a thing is, and have to take other people's word, or just guess. It's a pain, and causes all sorts of problems, even when people are being honest, which they often aren't. It helps to have knowledgeable friends.
