  2. Salar Jung Museum

    The Salar Jung Museum contains the rich & beautiful collection of a man named Nawab Salar Jung III. The museum is located near the river and houses some of the most ancient and rarest objects. In his times, Nizam of Hyderabad was reckoned amongst the richest men present in the world. There are around 35,000 objects of art, which includes clocks, paintings, jade, swords, miniature paintings, jewellery, statuary and Persian manuscripts. There are various priceless treasures like the turban of Tipu Sultan of Mysore, an ivory chair, the exquisite dagger of Nurjahan the Mughal empress and the dressing table of Marie /Antoinette. The museum displays various items that belong to the prehistoric times and also a pavilion, which comprises of the replicas of Ajanta Frescoes

    Mecca Masjid

    The Mecca Masjid is located very near to the Charminar and is a very big mosque, which can accommodate more than 10,000 people. The huge colonnades and arches were shaped from single slabs of the granite, which were quarried 14kilometers away. On one side of Mecca Masjid are located the tombs of the famous Nizams of Hyderabad. The oldest mosque of Hyderabad i.e. the Jama Masjid is also located near by.

    Tank Bund/Hussain Sagar

    Tank Bund located along the beautiful Hussainsagar Lake is the favorite promenade in the city of Hyderabad. The beautiful Hussain Sagar Lake divides the city of Hyderabad from Secunderabad its twin city, which was earlier a British cantonment and now a residential suburb.

    » Nehru Zoological Park - It is one of the largest parks in Asia and holds a collection of a large number of snakes. There are also other varieties of animals and reptiles existing in the park.

    » Birla Mandir - The Birla Mandir is made of white marble and stands on the Naubat Parbat, a small hill. The view of the temple is wonderful.

  4. there is a beautiful museum...Salar jung musuem..not to be missed. Another is birla mandir. Char minar..ntg so great. Jus drive thru wud do. if u r into bollywood movies...go to ramoji filmcity..its about 40 mins from the city...worth going for a bollywood fan.
