  1. yes! in iceland they have built a huge hyrdo-electrical dam which produces huge amounts of power for the surrounding aluminum factories/ producers. this is 100% clean but has flooded a hgue amount of the surrounding land and can cost alot to build.

however the main problem is not every aluminum producer has a dam near them.

i think recycling the aluminum we have got is the way forward

    hope i could help x

  2. How about nuclear energy?  If done correctly, it is virtually pollution free and can last forever.  It scales very well to so you can make it fit the needed capacity.

Its to bad it sounds so scary because it is really a great source of energy.

  3. I think they can consider to use Solar as their Alternative Energy.

They can build up a big solar electricity system !

  4. Geothermal is the way to go.

Geo-thermal is a great means of harnessing electricity and heat without using raw materials such as oil or coal. The main details are that basically you draw the heat from the earth's core and use that to create steam instead of the other mentioned.

This is now also used in volcanic regions like Iceland and in a part of California...

It's also releases a significantly small amount of gases compared to the normal production line.

More information can be found online :P

  5. The smelters used all the cheap hydro electricity in the Northwest for years until they found they could sell their 20 year contracts back to the power company for a huge profit while shutting down and fireing everyone.
