I am currently in the process of moving my husband into the US and there is some paper work asking for an IRS Waiver, as i have not worked in 5 years i haven't been able to file. My father however is a joint sponsor and he is our main support. It would be great if someone could help us out as he has his interview in a couple of weeks and needs this IRS Waiver for the interview. Thank You.

  1. You will need to contact your local IRS representative. The IRS Waiver is basically a way of proving to Immigration that your husband hasn't been here all that time you didn't file, earning wages "under the table." They want to see how you survived/ got by. Provided that you were honest with the IRS (as you stated, your father was a joint sponsor and main support) you shouldn't have any problems obtaining nor presenting one to Immigration.
