What is an Intermediate school?

Question

My little nephew who is 10 years old is getting sent to this school. Does this mean he needs more attention in his schoolwork or what? Honestly the only problem i've ever seen with him is videogames 24/7 youtube,or tv. He really is a bright kid when not obsessed with these other things.But what do these schools do? and why is he getting sent here?http://www1.aldine.k12.tx.us/schools/websites/escamilla/index.htm

its not for bad kids at all.

its just an extra school because the town is growing fast and needs an extra school for all of the kids.

they had 5th and 6th grade go to intermediate

around here we had two of them connected cause there are so many people here.

heres what its like around here:

elementary- pre-k through 4th grade

intermediate- 5th and 6th graders

middle school- 7th and 8th graders

and then highschool- 9th through 12th graders

its not a school hes being sent to cause hes not doing bad its just a normal school

An intermediate school is a school that is in the middle.

By that i mean it's like an elementary and middle school mixed together. It's not some bad boy school.

well, an intermediate school is a skool in which they try to prepare the child to be more better prepared for college. they give different style in teaching than the average public school. their is going to be a little more work to do and more expectations of the child coming from intermediate schools.

Intermediate schools are usually designed for 5th and 6th graders, and they are meant to provide a healthier transition from elementary school to middle school.  They are not necessarily for "troubled" children.  6th graders are said to be psychologically different from 7th and 8th graders (obviously less mature), and some people think that intermediate schools address problems such as kids "growing up too fast," peer pressure, etc.

Intermediate school is just the school between elementary school and high school.

In the States, we have six years of elementary school, two years of middle/intermediate school, and four years of high school. Some schools vary a little bit, but that's the general idea.

I went to an Intermediate school. Where I live, it was just the school between elementary and middle schools.

I didn't know there was a difference . . . . my middle school that I went to was called Arcola Intermediate School, and it was a regular public school, grades 6-8.

In a school system I know of intermediate school isn't bad.

Elementary is K-2nd grade

Intermediate is 3-5th grade

Middle is 6-8th grade

and High is 9-12th grade

Lol, intermediate school is like a junior high, usually public. There's really nothing wrong with it.....They're just like any other public schools...Maybe the boy's parents want to save money or something if he previously went to a private school. (which you have not indicated)

Here its 9 and 10th grade and it doesn't mean anything bad. It just means that the city is trying to stop school overcrowding.

Unless it's an intermediate LEARNING center...
