  2. MVP is the Most valuable player in the world for different sports. It stands for being the best. For example this year Kobe Bryant was the MVP and he is the best in the world.

    For example, Chris Paul should have won MVP honors last year because he make his team better.  If you take him out of the equation, the Hornets would not have a penetrator, or a distributor...

    if you took out kobe from the lakers, the team still had gasol, odom, role players on the lakers bench...

    im a lakers fan, but Chris Paul truly deserved it.

    usually the people that get the mvp award are the best overall player in their sport or just have the best stats and they then recieve the mvp award!

It stands for Most Valuable Player but some people see it as The best player on the team with the best stats even though there team is in last place they may be the best but they won't get MVP.  Or it is the best player on your team that also helps your team with a winning record but may not have the best all around stats.
