  1. Someone who can't mind their own business and feels an overwhelming desire to force their beliefs on everyone else.

  2. An Activist is someone who is willing to work generally without pay for a cause or group, that needs help. They can also be persons starting a cause or group to identify and help those in need. years ago it was temperance, child workers, health advocacy, work related issues, civil rights. Today we call their activity groups "grass roots organizers" as well. Some of the most herald issues were started in our country this way, civil rights, ending segregation in education, abortion rights, L*****n and g*y discrimination and more. We now have paid workers and staffers in these now greatly organized groups. There are now political groups using this formula to support almost any cause. Ida B. Wells is a excellent choice for this subject of an activist. good luck.

  3. Unlike the anti-American left who strive to foist their own beliefs on others Ida was a true campaigner for reform.  The duke site has some good information on her.  An activist used to champion a cause within the law.  Now it's an excuse to rail against the establishment and act like a three year old throwing a tantrum.  I realize there will be a lot of thumbs down but that's endemic of the current breed.

  4. Someone with too much time on his hands.
