An affiliate program is where you sell someone else's product and collect a commission on every item that you sell

There are numerous affiliate programs out there, letting you select the niche and product you want to be associated with.

Like every thing else do your own D&D. There are lots of scams out there. Commission Junction or Click Bank are good places to start.

Affiliate marketing is a business model. Amazon.com was the first to explode this model in a public sense back in 1997. The growth of affiliate marketing has been huge ever since.

Here's how an affiliate program works, using Amazon as the example...

The affiliate provides links from his site to certain books on the Amazon site, books that are related to the affiliate's site content. Amazon uses special software that tracks who sends each visitor. If and when the visitor buys, Amazon pays the affiliate a commission.

There are great resources out there to assist in building a small business using the affiliate model as a great source of income. Unfortunately, with the good comes the bad. There are also so many self proclaimed gurus claiming to sell their secrets and make you rich quick.  Affiliate marketing takes skill just as any other successful business. Good Question!   As you know, there are merchants that sell information and products on the Web. When you facilitate or otherwise cause someone to buy something from the Merchant you are "affiliated" with...you get a commission! Often big!

It's easy if you know how. That's the catch.

An affiliate is where you either sell someone elses products and collect commissions or you refer people for commissions.

ClickBank, PayDot, Commission Junction, and Affiliates Directory are places to go for ligit. programs.  The primary thing about using these sites is you WILL get paid for your work, they track everything, and handle all the refund requests for you. All allow you sign up for Free and their is Virtually NO RISK.

You should NEVER have to pay to join an affiliate program.  

Their are some great programs out their.  I make about money each and every month from these programs and there is no reason for you to fail.
