What is an agriculture program?

What is an agriculture program. I wanted to go to Purdue for buisness , but someone said they have more of an agriculture program. I dont know what this means. please explain. thanks.

An agriculture program is one in which the major focus of study is on agriculture and related areas. If Purdue is mainly an agriculture related university you might try agribusiness. There is also more of a future in employment in agribusiness than in just business. Good luck!

You see alot of colleges are known for different things. Some you go to to be a lawyer others for sports ect.

Purdue has a really strong program for agriculture which is classes and degrees in animal sciences, plants, agribusiness, aqua culture. Stuff like that.

That does not mean that you cant  go their for business. What the person prob. meant was its not the total best to go to for reg. business.

If you like the college check it out, the people there are the best people to ask.

Colleges and universities have different degree programs and departments. One that offers business degrees may offer engineering degrees, could offer agricultural degrees, whatever the demand is. That is usually determined by the student needs in that area. It is an easy web search to find out what departments are available at Purdue, and also find out who offers business degree programs and also has an agriculture or plant/ soil department to cover electives, those many choices of classes that students require to taylor their education needs and desires.

I was going to attend Purdue several years ago and checked them out.  They are an excellent university in many many programs, which means area of study.  They have an excellent business program.  They have an excellent arts and sciences program.  They have an excellent agriculture program.  They are very famous for their agriculture program, but their other programs are also very very good.  Usually, all schools that have good agriculture programs also have other good programs.  But not every school has an agriculture program.  So, if you are famous for an agriculture program, people may think this is all you have and forget about your other very good programs.  Go where you want!  Purdue will be good for you.
