it doesnt have to have anything to do with god. Just something that either makes you think, or touches you in someway.

Try something by Skillet. They're an awesome Christian band, they aren't exactly alternative but they're rock, and their lyrics can be about God or just a relationship depending on how you look at it. I'd pick either  "Savior" or "A Little More" from the album "Collide" if you're looking for something for religion class.

If those don't cut it for you, try Switchfoot or Relient K.
