  1. In italy 3 milion euros for km!

  2. For CTC it is closer to 2 mil a mile now, we don't deal with metric baby!!

  3. Here in the U.S. I think single-track runs around $1m per mile, although that price excludes the cost of outright new ROW as well, which would obviously increase the price.

  4. I'm told it's 1 million for 1 mile.  and every 1 lane road to cross it's an extra $100,000.

  5. Depends on the country.  I worked on a new construction and the expense varies with the terrain.  How much cut and fill is necessary?  How many bridges?  High level or low level, what about inverts?  Even across flat country the cost can vary.  The formation should meet minimum engineering standards, you can't build a railway formation with highly organic mud.  So you may have to import material in some areas.  How far do you have to haul it? Good formation  material, not a high formation, flat country, no problems with land acquisition?  Might even be less than a million a kilometer.

  6. About $3 million per km for dual track, the usual configuration.  That would not include the cost of communication and signaling.
