  1. If you have a JVC tv and/or dvd player, you could link them to the receiver.  It would automatically adjust the inputs and volume depending on what you selected.  Essentially it's a gimick - I don't know many people who would go out of their way to get an all JVC system.


  2. To add to Bill's absolutely correct answer, there are products where JVC is above reproach, but not all.

    They invented the VHS VCR and hold all the patents. To this day, they still make the best one.

    They invented LCoS and call it HD-ILA. The most accurate way to display a picture other than a projection CRT. Sony is copying them with their SXRD displays.

    In a modern day system, you might want to choose a different DVD player, but JVC is cutting edge, and a good choice if you want matching components. Compulink II is designed for that.
