If I were going to throw my money in a bank right now or find a solid CD out there, what interest can I expect to see over a year?

  1. Average National CD Bank Rates

Also can search rates for your area from link above.

  2. Very low, unfortunately---should be around 3.50% for a year, not enough to breakeven or keep up with inflation.

  3. depends on size of the deposit and how long you will be willing to lock it up.  Go to bankrate.com and look at the CD tab, it will give you a clue.  Generally, the more you will deposit and the longer you are willing to lock your money up for, the higher the rate you will get.  tba
