At middle school track meets the scoring times will range from low 2:30s to high 2:40s depending on how competitive that particular meet is. Average times are about 3 minutes, maybe a little bit higher. Lots of runners initially have trouble breaking the 3 minute mark, but there's no hope of scoring without getting much lower.
