  1. well it really all depends on where you are in ireland. they can be very big or extremly small with just a pub, post office and a few houses in itt.

but they usually have a few shops, chruch, pub, post office a school of some sort, a chemist, a chipper, a hair dresser and a video storee.

then you have the ohter extreme in the very large towns that have load of shops, pubs and reasturants in itt. it really all depends on where you areee

  2. Well I will tell you about my town.

It has a population of over 27,000 as per the last census, it has 11 primary schools, 4 secondary schools, 3 hotels, about 15 bars, around 10 restaurants, lots of cafes and far too many hairdressers and beauty salons. It also has a Norman castle and is a walled town and is very historic.

Shopping wise, it is a bit of a let down, shopping centre opened up about 10 years ago, it's small and only has about 8 shops in it but we did get a big Tesco, Iceland and Co-op which put a h**l of a lot of the smaller privately owned shops out of business, so one of the main street looks like a ghost town with boarded up shops.

  3. All towns are completely different in Ireland.

For example some towns in The country (Galway, Clare, Donegal etc.) are quiet in the country where a lot of people know each other and to be honest it's quite safe, Whether in busy places example nearly everywhere in Dublin, It's huge, noisy, crowded where people are unknown and it wouldn't be as safe as the country and there would be way more shops.

    Hope i helped

  5. It has usually a square, often with a market place (for a weekly market). It usually has up to 4 roads meeting in the square and has about 50 businesses, 3 hotels, 8 pubs, 6 restaurants.
