My mother's funeral was today, and I have two roses from her casket spray. I would like to know if anyone has any ideas how to press them or preserve them.

  1. I don't think you can press rooses flat enough because they are too thick. We have had great success hanging them upside down as previously mentioned in one of those answers above mine.

  2. I am so sorry for your loss.  You could hang the roses upside down in a cool dark place and they will dry that way.  It takes awhile, about a month or two, but they will keep the same basic shape and then you could put them in a vase or a shadow box.

  3. So sorry to hear about your Mother..there are many ways to preserve your roses ,so rather than list all of them here try this web site American Rose Society Drying Flowers, you may find a way to preserve your flowers that's easiest for you.I hope this helps

  4. Place between several thicknesses of absorbent paper & then place on a flat surface & weigh down with a stack of heavy books. Leave for a month or so till fully dried out. Sorry for your loss.

  5. Press them by putting them in a big book like a dictionary, and then place another heavy book on top of it for about a month.  I'm sorry for your loss.
