  1. Well first of all the toms have to sound good. Everyone has there own way of tuning their drum set. A think you can use to  make it sound better is using dampeners. Like RTOM Moongel Dampening Gels (which I use) and also Remo RemOs Tone Control Rings and the Evan E-Rings.  


  2. A way to improve the sound of your drums is to get new drum heads.  It can completely change how the drums sound.  For drums and cymbals that ring too much, use moon gel or any kind of dampening pads.  Also to improve the room that it's in you can put studiofoam on the walls. Hope this helps.
