What is an emo?Please answer!?

You guys really often talk about that and I don't understand what it means.Is this related to punk or what?!

i clicked this by accident, honestly and when i saw the answers they really pissed me off. NONE of you know wtf emo is. everybody says its a cry for attention and they cut their wrists and s**t. i'm emo and i don't cut my wrists. people who cut them selves are CUTTERS(hint the d**n cutting) some emos DO cut themselves but not all of them. if you want to know about emos ask an emo.
