An endurance runner is someone who runs an endurance event as opposed to a sprint or middle distance event.  You do not have to be an ultra marathoner to be an endurance runner.  Any event above 800m requires a significant amount of endurance training and anyone who trains for events 5k and longer is definitely an endurance runner.


  2. An endurance runner is a runner that does any sort of distance running as opposed to sprinters who run short distances with speed.

  3. That really depends on who you ask...

    I run marathons, 1/2 marathons, 10Ks, etc., and to me an endurance runner is someone who runsfurther than 42.2K (marathons), otherwise known as ultra marathons or ultra distance (50K or more).  But if you were to ask some one whose in track, 5K would probably be considered as an endurance runner.

    Wikipedia says an endurance runner is a runner who runs longer than the traditional 42.2K (26mi).
