I have had constipation for about a week, so my aunt (i live with her) is taking me to her friend (she's a nurse) and i am going to get an e***a. I sort of know what it is but, i was just wondering if anyone had details. And if you have any ideas on how to be less nervous, because i am really nervous. my cousin say i'll have to wear a diaper after, will i? my aunt says it might be a good idea? HELP!

  1. Seriously, why do you keep asking this over and over? You obviously know what it is now that you have read the MANY MANY good answers.

  2. how many times will you ask this silly question ???? does no on read profiles??? LOL

  3. Its a medical process where they inject a liquid into your r****m to stimulate bowel. It does not hurt but does must feel awkward since they will most likely use some sort of tube to penetrate your r****m and within a few minutes you will go to the bathroom.

You will not need a diaper since this is normally just to stimulate one instance of bowel.

Yous should consider eating healthier if you do not want then to do this to you again. Too much meat and junk food can lead to constipation...

  4. Why is this in this section?  anyways,  I would not want an e***a, have you tried to increase your fiber intake A LOT?  I'd try about 30-40 grams of fiber for a few days before anyone gave me an e***a!  Try metamucil (spelling?)  it's not a laxative.  All it is is a fiber supplement that dissolves in water.  I've had this problem before and it really is because I had been eating too much prepackaged food and not enough water. The metamucl helped though!

  5. An enima is a sterile saline solution that is pumped into the r****m via an applicator. It helps desolve blockages in the lower intestinal tract and relieve constipation.

A diaper is not necessary, but you will have an extremely heavy bowel movement within 10 minutes of insertion. Many are self applied while some are applied by a doctor, but in either case it is a good idea to be really close to a bathroom.

The most natural impulse is to clentch up your sphincter muscles during the insertion, but this can be uncomfortable and make the procedure more difficult. The most important thing to do is to try and relax, realize that it is an extremely common, non-envasive procedure, and will be over more quickly if you can relax, stay calm, and not tense up.
