Those pokemons are rather really hard to get or unique in some moves/ribbons/items. For example:

A surfing or flying Pikachu.

These pokemons are very rare and can be traded for a lot of more pokemons.

a nintendo event is an event that is held in real life, i havent been to one or whatever but they have like 3 very rare pokemon there that you can "go to" in your game & get stuff. thats what i've read but i havent been to one.
