What is an example of emotive language?

I need to do a speech, and I need to say why emotive language aids a survival recount, so could someone give me an example of one? And also, does this sound more descriptive or emotive? “The floor began to lower under my feet and all I could think about was that it would crack open and I would fall hundreds of feet to my death!”.
