I am doing a project that asks for an example of syntax. Not an example of the word used in a sentence, but "an example that can be found in movies, musical lyrics, poetry, and prose." i wasnt quite sure what it was asking me for.

  1. what kind of example you need?

    If sentence -

Syntax is an important part of style and meaning in language.

  2. Syntax is the order in which you place words, to make a sentence either sound good or convey a certain meaning. "To your house we are going" would be an example of awkward syntax. You understand it, but it sounds odd. People who are learning a language might have problems with syntax.

If you mess with syntax, you can change the meaning:

The young man carries the lady.

The lady carries the young man.

    Syntax matters!

  3. come again?

  4. Syntax is mainly the grammar or sentence structure used in whatever it is you're doing a project on. In poetry, words can be shifted to emphasize connections and so on.

Maybe a pattern in a certain sentence or sentences... Hope this helps!
