The Minolta has a 6v external supply jack, what I really want is a hip pack.

  2. The device does NOT care where the power comes from when an external power supply is used. It can be batteries or it could plug into a wall socket. As long as the voltage and polarity to the connector is correct, things will work just fine. What you are looking for is simply called an external battery power supply.
