  1. Carlos answered it correctly. To expand just a little, these slides are used (generally) to look for/evaluate the presence of any abnormal cells. Abnormal can mean anything that is not usually found in that specific tissue (bacteria, viruses, pre-cancerous/cancerous, anything different.) These slides are very useful in diagnosing a problem/disease. Hope this helps!
