  1. Can never be black-balled...

  2. Depends on to what context you are talking about... but in general:

Like president Bush has made some guy an "Honorary Texan" because he donated lots of money to schools in Texas or something. He got like a certificate saying Honorary Texan. This does not mean they guy is a Texan, lives in Texas, or anything like that.

if you are in a club, an honorary member is not really a member, but they let that person in.... maybe cause they are hot or has helped someone high up. Yet, tomorrow they may not let that same person in, because they are still not a member.

  3. Some one who is given free mebership to a club for what ever reason the club can think off.  Some give Honorary membership to celebrities who have the same interest, some give it to people who have been in the club for ages, so they no longer pay. Stuff like that.

  4. A person may receive an honorary degree from a university for work in Eng Lit or some such.

    Honorary citizenship.

Honorary knighthood [Steve Spielberg got one from the Queen for work in the movies - most esp. for Schindler's List etc.]

Honorary club membership for a lifetime of picking up lost gold balls on behalf of the club members.  The only way a caddie gets to go to the bar and drink with the members.

  5. someone who was honored with a membership for something they either did or donated instead of they way everyone else became a member
