  1. Individualized Education Program

    It ends with your schooling, usually 12th grade.

    In my state we get Disability Determination questionnaires. We track down the former student's file, copy the most recent evaluation information and the last IEP, answer a few questions and return the form to the social security commission. They make a determination about SSI from that.


  2. If you have an IEP in high school it can help you in higher education  should you want to go to college.  You can use any modifications in college.  It has to be in force as of your senior year.  

    The only thing it might help with for SSI is if you have some kind of disability that is medical.

An IEP is an Individual Education Plan that maps out a childs education goals for one year.  The IEP is written for a student with special needs.  Each year an IEP meeting is held to discuss the students previous years academic/behavior goals and to see if those goals have been mastered.  A special needs student can receive services until they are 22 in the state of Florida. An IEP does not follow a student past high school.

  5. Individualized Education Plan.  It depends on what kind of special needs the student has.  In many states kids will he helped to find a job just before they graduate.

  6. an "iep" is an individual education plan...typically utilized for students requiring special resources...it doesn't affect you once you graduate high school.
