What is an illegal firearm?

for example the constitution JUST says we have the right to bear arms so that means taht anyone besides covicted felons can carry them??

so why cant a mentally ill person come to school with a gun or a gang member carry a gun>?

  1. No the real question is what the h**l would anyone need to carry a gun to school for to start with? thats a ignorant thing...


  2. Depends on who you ask...the dems think anything bigger and better than the police should be illegal..the Brady bunch believes all guns should be illegal...as do the criminals.


  3. Actually, the Constitution does not make any statement about mental illness, felony convictions, hunting, self defense, recreation or anything else of that nature.

    An illegal firearm, today, is one that is owned or possessed by someone no longer allowed to own one.

    Certain types of firearms, namely fully automatics, are restricted but not illegal if a person goes through the effort to get permits for them.

    Other firearms also are restricted and many are just not allowed in private ownership such as artillery type weapons and others that have only a military use.

    Since the purpose of the second amendment is so that the ordinary citizens of the US can rise up against an oppressive government, I tend to side with the extreme that there should be no regulation on firearm ownership at all.
