  1. Impartial jury is a nice, fuzzy warm theory.  If a guy is charged with bank robbery he may have a chance of an impartial jury. If a beer-bellied guy in a stained T-shirt is charged with child abuse he is guilty, why not just kill him now?  No such thing as impartial jury in some crimes.  Most people take the civic duty seriously (if they can't get out of jury duty)  and do try to hear evidence. It is the only chance most people have for input to crime and punihment.


  2. It is a jury that is not biased in either direction about the case at hand.  They have no opinion one way or the other until they hear the case as it is presented in court.

  3. jury that doesnt favor one side over the other. They are fair and dont pick sides
