  1. finger sandwitches

  2. panzanella.

It is the most delicious italian appetizer!

    my grandparents are italian imagrents

and they have one of the most famous italian resturaunts

    in brasil.

go to the link but the panzanella does NOT have to be a salad.

if you slice the bread then you can put the tomatoes and everything else on it.

trust me, if it's done right...it's so amazing and impressive!

  3. little cucumber sandwiches.

  4. lots of fresh cut up fruit (take the time to cut everything super neatly), and this awesome dip I use. All there is to it is equal parts brown sugar & sour cream.

  5. california rolls

they're a lot easier to make than you'd think, but they still impress when you've done them yourself! to prove you made them, don't cut the roll until you're at her place.

  6. Buy frozen smoked salmon (make sure you get the pre-sliced layer pack) and defrost in the fridge according to directions; and, 1 package spreadable cream cheese--if you can get dill flavour, all the better.  Buy a lemon to decorate the plate, and a box of crackers (please, not Ritz! it's so boring)

Slice the lemon thinly and arrange on a plate.  On each slice of salmon, spread with cream cheese and roll up in a cigar shape.  Do this with all the salmon in the package and arrange on top of lemon slices.  Cover with plastic wrap & refrigerate until you're ready to go.  Take the plate & box of crackers with you (if you bring a basket for the crackers, and napkin for a liner you'll get big points too).  If you can find parsley or dill to garnish that would be super but not essential.

  7. Take thinly sliced lunch meat...put it on a plate...put some softened cream cheese over the lunch meat....add a sliced pickle length wise(about a quarter of the pickle)...wrap it like you would a sushi roll. I call it american sushi and it is DELICIOUS!!!

  8. My go to appetizer is a smoked salmon potato skin, which is a lot easier than it sounds. Get some regular potatoes and cut them skin on into 1/4 inch thick discs. Toss those with some olive oil, salt and black pepper immediately after cutting.

Lay them (not overlapping) on a baking sheet and bake at 400 degrees until they are golden brown and a little crisp but not crispy all the way through(8-10 minutes).

Make some dill cream cheese with plain cream cheese and fresh chopped dill mixed together. Spread a little of that on the potato rounds once they have cooled a little bit, and top with a piece of smoked salmon and some chopped green onions on top.

People go crazy over this stuff.

  9. quick olive tapenade: 2 cans black olives, 1 small jar green olives, 1 small jar capers, zest of 1 lemon, 1/4 cup olive oil, garlic powder to taste.

drain olives and capers. put in food processor with lemon zest. pulse, and stream olive oil in little by little. add garlic powder to taste and pulse again to mix. serve with store bought pita chips.

  10. Take some chocolate covered strawberries. They are delicious.

  11. It depends on the party...

You could homemake some kind of dip:  like a spinach dip in a breadbowl (you use the bread to eat the dip).

You could also make some kind of teacake or crumpet, etc.

If you want something more salty, I'm a real fan of crab rangoon (this one takes real skill and a LOT of time-- very impressive).

Any of these things you can find recipes for on the internet--- speaking of which, you could just go to a bunch of those sites and look around in the appetizer sections until you find something you like.

--try and find something that has her favorite foods in it (if you know them)
