What is an income tax return?

what does it look like? i need to send in an income tax return to my college and everything i send in is not the tax return so what is it?

Evidently you never filed income tax return so you can not send it to your college. If you are a dependent, then you can send copy of your parents' tax return.

An income tax return is what colleges in the United States use to confirm your income.  It is an annual form provided by our government to report all income on, and to either pay taxes on that income or receive a refund on overpayment of taxes.  If you don't live in this country then you probably don't have one to send them.  Maybe your country has something similar to it.  Contact the financial aids office of your college and tell them you need help with this.
