What is an insomniac? Am i one?

What EXACTLY is an insomniac, I know they have trouble sleeping and such, but what can definately signify this? I have a hard time getting to sleep and actually staying asleep through the night most times.

it COULD be a personal problem,maybe a fear or a worry of some sort.

often times when i cant sleep i have something important the next day and my MIND WON'T SHUT OFF!

try to stare at something for a while and s-l-o-w-y drift asleep

but it could also be your mattress! ;^)

An insomniac is someone who has insomnia, and doesn't need to sleep.

BUT having trouble sleeping and stuff doesn't always mean insomnia.

It could be a number of things, stress, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and other illnesses.

Insomniacs don't feel the need to sleep, and can go about day by day without needing to sleep more than a few hours a night.

You may want to check the web for the definition of "insomniac", I did and was surprised to find if effects mostly older persons.

I would think in your case, you have much on your mind. The "reticular activating system", will not shut down as long as the mind is active.

Please remember that most of the things you are worrying about cannot be resolved while you are in bed anyhow.

Take a few deep breath, concentrate on your breathing, and you should be asleep in about 7 mins.

you sound like you suffer from bouts of insomnia.

Insomnia is difficulty falling asleep; can't sleep

Tylenol PM works good for me - take 2 tabs before bedtime; and it is non-addicting.  You may want to check with a doctor first.  Warm milk before bed helps too

I would probably be classified as that.  I take sleeping pills when it gets really bad.

insomnia usually means u dont sleep at all... or u have a great difficulty getting to sleep...

if u have a hard time sleeping keep it natural... no pills... i know this stuff they sell at GNC or GNC.com called Melatonin.  it helps u sleep.

no bullsh*t... buy it its only like 7 bucks for 100 of them. they melt under ur tounge and in 20 min ur asleep...
