Okay, so I'm doing my math summer school homework for the SHSI and lots of questions involve integers, what are they?

  1. An integer is "A member of the set of positive whole numbers {1, 2, 3, . . . }, negative whole numbers {−1, −2, −3, . . . }, and zero {0}." Integers do not include decimals or fractions.

For example, 10 is an integer, but 10.1 is not. Likewise, -17 is an integer but -8/7 is not.
