What is an interns meeting?

I have to attend one next week and was wondering how I should prepare. Will I be asked questions or will it be more like a presentation?

It's a Journalism internship if that makes a difference

  1. Assuming you already have the internship...  Sounds like your employer is getting all of the interns together for a meeting.  It could be on any sort of topic -- a progress report on the internship and upcoming goals, a posting on new assignments for everyone, etc.

Can you ask your manager what the topic is, and if you need to prepare anything?  Or try a full time colleague at work who used to be an intern, and see if he or she had a similar sort of meeting.

I would suggest dressing more professionally than usual standard.  So if you can wear jeans, then go business casual.  If you are business casual, then wear a suit. Etc.

It's always best to prepare to speak.  Befoer you attend, be able to give a 2 or 3 minute overview of the work you've been doing.  Also be prepared with questions for your manager, just in case you're asked.  When in doubt, ask about your manager's career experiences, or your manager's take on upcoming projects/goals.

    Good luck!
