What is an open call?

I want to audition for disney as a dancer or look alike character. I looked online and some say open call and some don't. What's the difference?

For an open call you do not have to be invited.

An open call is an audition that is not by invitation or appointment, but instead is open to anyone who wants to try out for a particular opportunity.

The other auditions they might want you to set something up over the phone, email, fax, or though agent/ agency first.

I think the difference is that an open call is something that anyone can come and a closed call is something that you have to be invited to go. I think that is the diference. I am not sure.

open call is when just about anyone can go and audition

those that arent open are those that require agents and such
