on a motorcycle track day whats an open pit lane to a normal track day whats the diffrence?

An open pit lane event means you are free

to go on and off the circuit (track) as

often as you like for any length of time -

You will need ability and experience to

participate in an 'open pit lane' event -

A track day however - is organised in

group sessions - you may only go on

circuit during your specified session -

(novice - intermediate - advanced)

A novice will not be permitted to go on

track during the advanced group session -

However, in certain circumstances - ie

to run-in a new engine - an advanced rider

may go on track during the novice session -

An advanced rider would be permitted

to attend an open pit lane event -

whereas the novice will not -
