What is an outline????????

in my homework it tells me to " Outline the steps of the scientific method" how do i do it??

When it says outline, means you write the main points of your subject. The general thing.

Like for example you spend an hour talking to you and your friend about this movie and how you can't believe that guy was actually a vampire that turned into a werewolf during the day and then you went to go buy chips and candy. And if somebody said, "Oh hi, what did you do that today? You know, in general." Your reply shouldn't be describing every aspect, the outline would be, "Oh my friend and I saw this really scary movie, talked on the phone after about it, and bought junk food." I hope you get it.

an outline is usually at the front of a document where you list in outline form points and subpoints you will be discussing

such as

How i eat certain fruits

1. Eating oranges

   A. how to peel oranges

   B. how to slice oranges

       1. how to slice without getting juice in your eye

2. Eating Apples

    A. peeled or unpeeled

    B. different ways to slice

        1. cutting out the core

that was just a wacky example of an outline but i believe your homework assignment is not that kind of outline but to just discover the different steps and discuss them. the steps are

Define the question

Gather information and resources (observe)

Form hypothesis

Perform experiment and collect data

Analyze data

Interpret data and draw conclusions that serve as a starting point for new hypothesis

Publish results

Retest

You make a list of them using bullets.. dont right them all out, just right the name of each step and bullet the facts that go along with that step

What scientific method? You need to explain what your doing. basically, but I could answer this question 100x better if I knew what you were doing.
