  1. SPL stands for Student Pilot's License it is a license that a person obtains when they gain enough flight hours in a training aircraft on their way to obtaining a Private Pilots License.

a Private Pilots License (PPL) is when a person finishes flight and ground school and can now fly solo without an instructor in the plane with them. a private pilot may not fly for hire or in other words fly someone in return for cash rewards.

CPL stands for Commercial Pilots License and is obtained when the pilot has enough flight hours and the necessary ratings such as IFR (Instrument), night time etc. on his license. it is the first stage where a pilot can fly for hire.

APL or Airline Pilots License (also refered to as ATPL or Airline Transport Pilots License) is where one can fly a commercial airliner, such as a Boeing 737, run by an airline and can fly passengers around the world.

  2. Those are acronyms used in Europe.

  3. Agree with the above and additionally

in order to get each certificate u need to get the following hours in ur logbook

PPL-40 to 45 hours of flying

    CPL-200+

also there is CPL-IR(instrument rating) and ME(multi engine)
