  1. I read that humans would somehow feel the effect if frogs were to become extinct.  Frogs; being the lowest on the food chain to cause this effect.  Err...bla, bla...but, look into it.

  2. in some cases one animal is dependent on another for survival,in the case of the DODO bird it would eat the fruit of a certain tree (forget the name ) digest the fruit and have an effect on the seeds so when it would p**p out the seeds they were ready to germinate. With the demise of the DODO the tree had no new seedlings being produced and now that tree species is on the verge of extinction. The History channel did a neat show on the cause and effect when one species goes extinct how that effected the rest of an ecosystem there were others I just cannot remember the others

  3. When an animal becomes endangered it is because there are fewer of them left. Imagine if there were only 50 humans left in the world. Over the course of 25 years trying to repopulate the earth it would take some careful family history bookkeeping to prevent mothers from having babies with cousins and so on. The same happens in the animal kingdom. When the gene pool shrinks the overall strength, health and intelligence of the species begins to dwindle as well.
